Camping
Camping?
With Alcona County’s miles of river bank, endless lake shores, and acres and
acres of national and state forest, of course we’ve got camping. Whether you
pull a twenty eight foot trailer or carry everything over your shoulders or
in your canoe, there’s great camping in Alcona County.
We boast a gorgeous state campground on the shores of Lake Huron (in
Harrisville), three national forest primitive sites (two lakeside, one on
the Pine River), and the AuSable River’s largest organized campground (just
upstream of the Alcona Dam between Glennie and Curtisville). So if you long
for campfires with conveniences or that Lewis and Clark experience you’ll
find it here in Alcona County
